The word try is dangerous

There is power in the words we use. It not only influences others, but it shapes our own view of what is achievable in our life. Sometimes for the positive and sometimes these words and thoughts limit us. Try, is one of those limiting words.

Many times when we set out to do something new, we commit to “Trying” over succeeding. When we commit to trying, there is already failure implied. Before we face any real challenge we are using language that has permission to give up baked in. It is a commitment to give less than full effort, to willingly bail out when things become difficult. “Try” lets you off the hook before we learn the most valuable lesson.

If you want to win more often, I mean really gain more success then work to eliminate the word TRY from your vocabulary. Stop using it to describe the outcome of anything new you start. Rather commit to smaller outcomes, commit to making evaluations of progress, commit to learning how to pursue and pivot around new ideas. But never ever just try
